Got a sunny yard in Manteca? We'll plant and tend a lavender garden in it. You get the blooms and the bees; we do all the work.
What we're looking for
A home in Manteca.
No HOA. HOA rules about yards and gardens can get in the way, so we only plant in non-HOA neighborhoods.
Plenty of sun. Lavender needs direct sunlight for most of the day.
Room for at least 40 lavender plants.
A homeowner who wants a garden for the long run: at least 5 years, and ideally 10.
The basic agreement
This is a simple tenant-farming arrangement. San Joaquin Victory Gardens (SJVG) farms a part of your yard as your tenant.
SJVG is the tenant farmer. We plant, water, weed, prune and harvest.
We own the plants and the irrigation. Every plant and all of the irrigation equipment belong to SJVG (Scott Jorgensen / jorgenclaw.ai, LLC).
Rent is $1 a month, paid by SJVG to the homeowner.
The homeowner provides the water.
Only SJVG tends the garden. Please leave the planting, pruning and harvesting to us.
Term: 5 years minimum, with a goal of 10 years. Lavender takes a few seasons to reach full size, so the garden gets better every year it stays.
This is an outline of the terms, not the contract itself. Before we plant anything, we sit down together, walk the yard, and both sign a written agreement.
